About the Event

"I love baking fresh bread! Its an essential part of our diet and I am passionate about sharing my love for hand made, home baked, unique sourdough."

On my bread making course for beginners, you will learn:

  • How to make bread using fresh yeast.
  • The benefits of eating sourdough and a slow fermentation
  • How to make a simple sourdough loaf, a fruit & nut breakfast loaf and fresh yeasted pizza base
  • How to include sourdough baking into a busy schedule
  • How to vary the basic recipe to your own preferences
  • How to look after your sourdough starter (mother) keeping it healthy and sharing your success.

This workshop gives you the chance to understand bread making and will show you how to bake with fresh bakers yeast and wild yeast. With a hands-on session making your own pizza dough and baking. This course also covers some of the more fundamental skills required for working with dough, namely mixing, kneading, proving and baking.

You’ll also gain an understanding of what wild yeast baking is and of how the fermentation process creates the full flavour of sourdough, including tasters of our favourite sourdough loaves.

You will make your own pizza base with fresh yeast, and learn how to make sourdough bread. You will also take home a sourdough starter (mother) to enable you to make sourdough in your own home.

For lunch you will enjoy your own handmade pizzas, baked in our traditional wood-fired clay oven.
